Though the fall harvest season is already well under way this year in Napa, there is still plenty of time to enjoy the sights and sounds of this busy season.  The first grapes for sparkling and white wines have already been picked, but there's much more work to be done before the harvest comes to a close for the year.  "Do-it-yourself" style harvesting has become an increasingly popular activity at vineyards across the valley.  VisitNapaValley.com has put together a comprehensive list of activities still to come in the fall harvest season.  The most popular of these include:

• From now through October 31st, Round Pond Estate is offering a 2 hour "Hands-on Harvest" experience.  Guests will enjoy an extensive glimpse into winery's daily operations, including working at the crush pad and barrel cellar doing whatever is scheduled for the day.  This could be sorting grapes, helping with pump overs, tasting partially fermented juice, stirring the lees, or testing the sugar and alcohol levels.  The experience also includes an intimate wine-tasting with a seasonal food pairing.  At $105/per person, it's a spectacular deal.
• Starting in mid-October, Round Pond Estate is also offering "A Day in the Life" experience.  Here, guests will spend a full day with winemaker Muiris Griffin.  Afterwards, savor an artisanal al fresco lunch paired with some of their most exquisite estate wines.
• If you want to get dirty, you can also join Grgich Estate for their daily grape stomping now through the end of October.
• Create three different blends during a 90-minute session called "Winemaker for a Day" with Raymond Vineyards. Afterwards, you'll be able to take home your custom-labeled blend to be enjoyed later.
• Enjoy a Bottle Blending Day Camp™ with Judd's Hill Winery.  You'll be creating a custom bordeaux-style blend from 4 of their barrels in a guided blending session. After you've chosen your flavors, you'll bottle, label, and foil your wine to take home.
